On December 31st 2013, the DVLA switched from its normal strategy to a new one designed to greatly increase its ability to serve its customers. The DVLA Local Office Network, made up of 39 offices serving different jurisdictions across the UK, was scrapped and in its place, all services were relocated to a central DVLA Office in Swansea, Wales. The new focus on a single, unified DVLA office allowed the organisation to channel its available funding into more updated services for their customers, and shifted the focus from physical interaction to digital services.
As a result of this change of strategy, the local DVLA Sheffield Office closed its doors for the last time on December 31st, 2013, and has now been completely replaced with the online services provided by the Swansea Central DVLA Office.
With more attention placed on their online services, the DVLA are now able to interact with customers instantaneously anywhere in the UK, without the need to travel often long distances to reach a DVLA office. If you need to contact the DVLA now, you can do so at any time using their official web site, by sending them an email, or by using the DVLA Enquiries Number listed at the right side of this page.
The DVLA contact line is partially automated and is therefore available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whenever you need to call, just pick up the phone and let the DVLA help you through your problem.
